Meteorite fall in the Chelyabinsk region became the main news of the day. According to police, the medical establishment has turned 514, the regional authorities assess the damage, and the governor has already found a celestial body in the lake. Politicians are talking about the origin of the terrestrial meteorite, and MOE asked not to create panic and assures that all warned in advance.
One of the jokes, which quickly spread on the Internet after the fall of the meteorite in the Chelyabinsk region, links the entry of space objects with the coming end of the world, due in 2012, which belatedly brought "Mail of Russia". However, neither the authorities of the Chelyabinsk region, or emergency services is not the time for jokes.
Dozens of mobile phone cameras Chelyabinsk residents this morning were turned to the sky. In the sky was visible dense smoke plume that was left after the fall of the meteorite. On the frame of the video from surveillance cameras show that in the sky there was a bright flash (probably when the body went into the air), and then continued to move the object to the earth.more
Hurricane "Isaac" has reached the coast of Louisiana! Hurricane first category "Isaac" on the night of August 29, reached the south-eastern coast of Louisiana. It is reported by CNN, with reference to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.

The mayor of New Orleans, reported Associated Press, said that the government does not expect the city to the consequences of such of hurricane "Katrina" in 2005, but urged residents to be vigilant and avoid streets that are flooded.
Wind speed at the center of the hurricane is now up to 130 kilometers per hour. According to the forecasts of meteorologists in the next few hours, it may increase, and "Isaac" can be assigned to the second category on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
Hurricane "Katrina", the fifth - the maximum - category on the Saffir-Simpson scale, hit New Orleans in late August 2005. Were then flooded 80 percent of the city, 1836 people have been officially declared dead. The economic costs of "Katrina" was estimated at $ 125 billion.more

For the past few weeks, the U.S. -- specifically the midwest -- has been experiencing unusually warm temperatures. This week is to be solidly in the 80s, and that's coming off the previous week of pleasant weather. And, come to think of it, winter wasn't that brutal either. There was perhaps a snow or two, some chilly days, but winter was nowhere near the normal frigid temperatures it brings. Between these consistently warm temperatures, I'm forced to wonder if Mother Nature realizes it's March. Does she know what time of year she's dealing with? Perhaps she's now permanently confused.
For weeks I thought the pleasant-ness was too good to be true. But then week in and week out, the freezing never came. Each spring the old farmers will state, "There is still one more freeze to come," for about five or six freezes. This year I have yet to hear them utter a word. Even the men with the most weathered (ha) experience know there's no stopping this heat front. Frozen flower beds are a thing of the past, it seems.
Yes, of course there are the buzzings of global warming. Those meetings where Al Gore takes his private jet to inform others just how much damage we've done (why not fly commercially to save some ozone). But what about all the places with record winters? While it's hotter than March here, other regions have gotten record amounts of snow and have never seen colder temperatures. How does global warming account for that? This can only lead me to believe that Mother Nature, in her attempt to get caught up in the world of basketball, has been playing a zone defense. She's assigned temperatures and climates to different regions and then forgotten about them. (Come to think of it maybe she's just retired.)
In comparison, I spent some time in Texas and it was unseasonably cold. Days of rain, wind, and chilled temperatures welcomed me into the second-largest state. I was hoping for a week of pre-tanning weather, dry heat, and bright sunshine, but instead spent my days soaking and frozen. (Did I mention I forgot my umbrella?)
But now that it's in the 80s and not even April, I'm worried about summer. Any chance the weather can just not change for the next four months? (I doubt it.) Instead, summer will be blazing. It will reach into the hundreds every day, with scorching humidity patterns, and a dryness that will seriously injure my garden.
Luckily, I have my eye on a shady patch in the back yard, which should work to reduce the heat factor. A lack of sunlight may not be good for some of the plants, especially the cucumbers, which is a plant that is smart enough to produce its own shade. But, for most, I think a solid stint in the sun, every day, would be detrimental to food and plant production. Now it's only a matter of keeping out the rabbits, and soaking the shaded dirt on a two-a-day schedule.more

Recently, an online store Amazon has stopped trading in whale meat on its Japanese site under pressure from environmental organizations, according to Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald.
"The American company Amazon is headquartered in Seattle, which is wholly owned by its Japanese unit, a policy ban on the sale of unlicensed or illegal wildlife products, as well as animal and plant species threatened with extinction. However, non-governmental organization Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA, specializes in the detection of crimes related to wildlife - Ed.), Found in the online store amazon.co.jp 147 different whale products, including cured meats, canned goods, bacon and stew " - the article says.
Animal lovers also conducted test purchases through the site, and then published the details of your inquiry. As the author notes, a few hours after the publication of Amazon has taken steps and search engine site has ceased to issue a list of products upon request "whale meat".
The International Whaling Commission (IWC) in 1982 voted to adopt a moratorium on all commercial whaling, beginning with the 1985-1986 season. Japan lodged an official protest against the moratorium in 1982, but withdrew it after the U.S. threatened it with sanctions.
Despite the ban on commercial harvest of whales, the IWC established in 1986, Japan continues to fish, referring to the provision of the agreement authorizing "conduct research on whales with possible fatal outcome." This country has drawn criticism from countries such as Australia, Britain and New Zealand, and attracts constant attention of environmentalists around the world.
Every year in Antarctic waters and the north-western Pacific Ocean, Japan kills over 800 whales. Among the member countries in the IWC for many years a tense discussion, during which the representatives of Australia and other countries in favor of tightening control over Japan's scientific whaling program, and representatives of the Japanese insist on the fact that whaling is an important part of the culture of their country.more

In 2008, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, bought the most expensive in the world of a camel - camel breeds Majah (mayagim), the cost of which amounted to 10 million dirhams (about 1.2 million U.S. dollars). This amount was the highest officially recorded price for a camel. Sheikh bought an expensive pet camels at the festival of beauty, which took place in Zayed in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Breed Majah, to which it relates, and camel, translated as "dark." Among the features of this breed can be noted an unusual dark brown skins of camels, in addition, they are allocated a special harmony, high head carriage, a graceful curved neck and back, as well as the ease of the forelegs and strong hind legs.
"Dark" is not used in the conventional camel races, they are raised solely for meat, milk and wool. These camels participate in beauty contests away from bright colors, which, according to organizers, they are inferior in beauty. In the annual competition for the best camel Zaid attended by more than ten thousand heads of different colors and shades. The planet does not know how else to make it clear that she was tired of us!
From the perspective of the Earth, an event like this should make its intentions "very obvious".
According to a report published on Tuesday, the planet Earth is "almost exhausted the possibilities" for the Prevention of approximately 6.9 billion people living there not their desire to get rid of them.
A series of recent devastating floods on the Mississippi River and tornadoes that have affected most of the United States, along with even more disastrous global natural disasters this year, suggests that the ways of the Earth expressed their desire to get rid of the human population coming to an end.
"I believe that the wishes expressed quite loudly and clearly" - in particular, the message says. - "You see, I was not very ambiguous. I just tried to drown you, crush, starve and thirst, stuffed with viruses and vacuum your home with their families whirling funnels of death. Honestly, I do not know what else to do that before you came. "
"I should say the syllables?" - Goes on to say, - "be gone from here. I want you to immediately cleared out."
The report also contained a list of thousands of incidents in 2011, developed, according to the Earth, "solely and purposefully" to tell the human race on the need to move, including the devastating tsunami that caused the deaths of thousands of people in Japan, the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand, that killed approximately one hundred eighty one person and historic rainfall in Colombia, as a result of which, under the deadly landslides killed entire populations.
Earth also made a prolonged drought in China, where more than 2.3 million people are faced with shortages of fresh water, as a "very loud bells, is not it?"
However, contrary to the hopes of the Earth that mankind will receive a "clear picture" after one of the most violent storms of winters in history, she found that people just continued their livelihoods, occasionally turning to disaster victims in our thoughts and prayers, but without showing no sign of preparing for the long voyage ahead of them in search of a new home.
"I know your type already mastered the technology to leave me - I saw how you used them before, so, please, please get the hint already," - says another excerpt from the report of the Earth, which adds that it was would actually be better for all if humanity "at some time struck down in some other biosphere." "You can all do not like it, right? Seriously, you must be completely insane masochists or to remain here. "
Immediately after the publication of the report has provoked a series of land fires in the arid regions of the world.
Although some scholars in response to the message the earth put forth theories about the possibility of having her communicative functions, the majority still firmly believes that further research is needed before it will be possible to draw any specific conclusions from the "caller's strong interest" in the message.
"Of course, this is the message of the Earth consists of categorical expressions, but at the moment it is difficult to say whether we are dealing with the regularity or simple biogeologicheskoy anomaly" - says Dr. Roger Sammons from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - "It seems that the message of that Earth wants us to leave and never come back, but I, for one, can not confirm this with the geochemical and meteorological point of view. "
This week, Republican leaders in Congress responded to a scathing attack in the direction of the planet and most of the scientific community, severely criticized the "sordid and extremist views" of Earth.
"What we see is the same old scientific fetishes and biased rhetoric that spews thousands of years the Earth" - Sen. Jim Inhofe says (Rep. from Oklahoma) - "We're not going to be afraid of the cosmic body, which often failed to fulfill his promises praise and reward the human race on the merits. "
Immediately after these statements of humanity, the earth heaved a sigh loud, the tectonic plates have shifted and caused numerous earthquakes on five continents.more
In Vietnam, killed the last Javan rhino!
The population of Javan rhinos in the world is rapidly nearing zero. In Vietnam, poachers killed the last two species, and about 50 animals remained in Indonesia.
Javan rhino as a species have been virtually lost in Vietnam, as a result of the Vietnam-American War in the 70s of the 20th century. Small population of rhinos has recovered only by the end of the 80s, but because of poaching by 2004, only one of the national parks left, only two Javan rhinoceros, and how recently it was reported in 2010, was killed and the last one .
Javan rhino - a very large mammal of the family of rhinos, a height slightly above 165 centimeters in length more than four meters long and weighing about two and a half tons.
EPA’s Killer MACT
To understand how the Environmental Protection Agency operates, one must first understand that it lies all the time. Its “estimates” are bogus. Its claims of lives saved are bogus.
It thrives on scare-mongering to a public that is science-challenged, but the science remains and the EPA must be challenged to save the nation from the loss of the energy it needs to function. It must be challenged to unleash the huge economic benefits of energy resources—coal, oil, and natural gas—that can reverse our present economic decline.
The latest outrage is the MACT rule—an acronym for “maximum achievable control technology” intended to reduce mercury emissions and other trace gases. The rule is 1,117 pages long. Its purpose is to shut down coal-fired power plants that generate over fifty percent of all the electricity used daily in the United States of America.
The value of the total benefits asserted by the EPA is alleged to be $6 million. Not billion, but million. The MACT rule would force 14.7 gigawatts—enough power for more than eleven million households—to be “retired” from the power grip in the 2014-15 period when the rules take effect.
Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK), the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works says, “The economic analysis of the Obama EPA’s MACT paints a bleak picture for economic recovery as it will cost $11 billion to implement, increase electricity rates for every American, and, along with the Cross-State rule, destroy nearly 1.4 million jobs.”
MACT is all about mercury in the environment of the nation. On May 25, 2011, the Wall Street Journal published a brief opinion piece by Willie Soon, a natural scientist at Harvard, co-authored by Paul Driessen, a senior policy advisor for the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow. It was titled “The Myth of Killer Mercury.”
Here are a few of the facts it offered.
“Mercury has always existed naturally in the Earth’s environment. A 2009 study found mercury deposits in Antarctic ice across 650,000 years.”
“Mercury is found in air, water, rocks, soil and trees, which absorb it from the environment.”
There is “200,000,000 tons of mercury naturally present in seawater” that “has never posed a danger to any living thing.”
“U.S. forest fires emit at least 44 tons (of mercury) per year; cremation of human remains discharges 26 tons; Chinese power plants eject 400 tons; and volcanoes, subsea vents, geysers and other sources spew out 9,000-10,000 additional tons per year.”
“Since our power plants account for less than 0.5% of all the mercury in the air we breathe, eliminating every milligram of it will do nothing about the other 99.5% in our atmosphere.”
This is the same EPA “logic” that insists on reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere when all life on Earth depends on it as plant food for all vegetation. More CO2 mean more crops for humans and livestock, healthier forests and jungles, and food for the Earth’s wildlife population.
In a foreword to “Regulators Gone Wild: How the EPA is Ruining American Industry”, Dr. Jay Lehr, the Science Director of The Heartland Institute, wrote, “This administration is pushing an unprecedented radical environmental agenda.”
The EPA, along with major environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, and others, have engaged for decades in a massive propaganda effort to convince Americans they are imperiled by the nation’s air and water. It is a lie. As the author of “Regulators Gone Wild”, Rich Trzupeck notes, “Though our world is actually cleaner than ever, most Americans are convinced it is dirtier.”
“Toxicity,” wrote Trzupeck, “is a matter of dose, as sober scientists have observed since ancient times. A particular compound may kill you if you drink it, but a few parts per billion of the same compound can have no effect at all…one can find toxic air pollutants in the parts-per-billion level in human breath.”
The EPA’s latest rule, which will no doubt be subject to lawsuits, is a killer MACT. It is not about mercury or other trace gases. It is about deliberately depriving the nation of energy which in turn means less jobs, less growth, and a third world lifestyle being imposed on Americans by the radical environmentalists inside the Obama administration.more
